Who are the Log Cabin Republicans? We are loyal Republicans. We believe in low taxes, limited government, strong defense, free markets, personal responsibility, and individual liberty. Polls show one-third of gay and lesbian voters support fair-minded Republican candidates. We represent an important part of the American family speaking up as a powerful conservative voice for fairness.
Our Mission The mission of the Log Cabin Republicans is to work within the Republican Party for the equal rights of all Americans, including gay men and women. The mission of the Log Cabin Republicans derives from our firm belief in the principles of limited government, individual liberty, individual responsibility, free markets and a strong national defense. We emphasize that these principles and the moral values that underlie them are consistent with the pursuit of equal treatment under the law for gay men and women. We believe these same core principles also best serve the best interests of the gay community. The mission of the Log Cabin Republicans shall be advanced at the local, state and federal levels through strategies coordinated by the members and leadership of the national organization and by the members and leadership of each state and local club. Through education, we intend to demonstrate that Republicans who are also openly gay can, in a spirit of solidarity and integrity, contribute substantially to the building of our Party and to the electoral success of our Party's standard-bearers. The result of this effort will not only be to secure full equality for gays but also to strengthen the Republican Party and to elect Republican candidates to public office.
Being Gay and Republican? Can it be? ABSOLUTELY
